PITTSBURG, KAN. – The Kansas Crossing Casino + Hotel announced today the addition of Gary Mattson as Director of Human Resources for the casino, hotel and event center, projected to open in March 2017, which expects to hire a total of 400 employees.
Since opening its web site to news and notifications regarding upcoming employment opportunities last month, Kansas Crossing has received nearly 800 submissions.
A native of Pittsburg, Mattson has 20 years of experience in human resources working for large companies throughout Kansas. Prior to his new role with the casino, he was Corporate Talent Development Manager for a Texas firm.

Mattson has been a long-time adjunct professor at Pittsburg State University and is actively involved in community groups that help support the growth of a skilled workforce in Southeast Kansas. Mattson has a history of working closely with KANSASWORKS and the Kansas Department of Commerce.

The Kansas Crossing Casino + Hotel, located near the junction of U.S. Highways 69 and 400 in Crawford County, is an $80 million development that will feature 625 slot machines, 16 gaming tables, a 123-room Hampton Inn and Suites and entertainment complex.
