Kansas Crossing Casino Holds Job Fair For Potential Hirees

Willis Smith attended a job fair Monday to relive an atmosphere he knows too well-working as a casino table dealer.
“I did it years ago and just kind of loved doing it. It was fun and I like interacting with customers and it’s been a while, so I thought I would give it another shot and see how I like it here in Kansas,” explained applicant Willis Smith.
He’s applying for several positions at the new Kansas Crossing Casino near Pittsburg. This facility will offer more than 400 jobs such as food and beverage, dealers, and security with competitive pay.
“We’re looking for folks that can convey home hospitality, folks that like having fun at work. They might not know how to deal, they may not know how to cook a steak but we could we could teach everything. But, we can’t teach a good attitude,” said Kansas Crossing General Manager Doug Fisher.
Fisher says Monday he was looking for candidates to become the next table game dealers. Once a person is hired to that position, they’ll have to attend a two-month dealing school.
“It’s just getting to watch people have fun and being apart of their fun. It’s just fun to do, it really is,” Smith added.
The casino and hotel is expected to be completed mid March of 2017. The facility will feature 625 slot machines, 16 gaming tables, 123 room suits and an entertainment venue.
The casino is still taking applications for all positions. To apply, you can click here.
